Nissan has announced that the 2027 Nissan Rogue will come with an all-new hybrid system. Their goal is to compete with two of the more consolidated vehicles out there. As CarBuzz highlighted, Nissan wants to match the RAV4 and CR-V, and offer a better driving experience.
It’s been known that Nissan has gone back and forth with hybrid powerplants and EVs. After the US Government rolled back emission standards, the Japanese automaker paused EV production to focus on hybrids.
This coincides with what the company has revealed about the 2027 Nissan Rogue and its performance. From what we know, the crossover will be a PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Vehicle), with about 41 miles on electric-only range.
Can The 2027 Nissan Rogue Actually Compete?
One of the most important aspects that Nissan must master with the 2027 Nissan Rogue is creating a compettive product, and it comes at a critical time. The 2026 Toyota RAV4 faces an uphill battle, even if it was the best-selling vehicle in 2024. That’s because an all-new RAV4 might not wow all those loyal buyers. Although, it seems that hype is brewing around the new model.
Another competitor is the Honda CR-V, a vehicle that has earned plenty of praise for its versatility and reliability. For Nissan to succeed against this one, it must create a similar package at a lower price, and that’s exactly what Nissan has been good at for years.
Ultimately, Nissan’s strong game will be offering a complete package at a lower price than the competition. This is a segment that’s riddled with options, from the CX-50 to the Subaru Forester and with Nissan’s proposal, it will only become tougher.
