From the outside looking in, the fact that Stellantis is considering closing brands is usually a sign for trouble.

However, if you analyze it with a bit more detail, you realize that it actually makes sense. After all, the company owns 14 different brands. Plus, some of the more traditional brands are showing signs of life, especially in the United States.

After announcing the return of the V8 in 2025, Ram sales picked up. People loved the idea of a V8 Hemi-powered truck, and the Ram fit the bill precisely

The company didn’t stop there. Under the guidance of CEO Tim Kuniskis (who oversees all the American brands’ respective CEOs), Ram announced that it would release even more exciting options for Ram lovers. These include the long-awaited new TRX and a 1,000 lb-ft diesel behemoth.

The reality is that a 777-hp TRX is exactly what Ram needed to take a step in the right direction. However, in a positive light for Stellantis, it’s not the only brand making the right moves.

Jeep Sales Help Stellantis Turnaround

Seven years have passed, and that’s a long time. It’s even longer when you consider that it’s how long Jeep had gone withouth a sales increase. In 2025, it managed to reverse the tide with a modest, but respectable 1% sales increase

However, overall, Stellantis still closed the year with a sales slump that also reached seven years. With that being said, the company had two consecutive sales quarters with positive numbers.

Stellantis is on the right path as it provides products that the American consumer wants, and removes those they don’t want.

Recently, it quietly removed the hybrid Wrangler and Cherokee. Although things are challenging, it seems that the long-awaited Stellantis turnaround is coming and that American brands will lead it.
