Ford Trucks Lifespan

Below is the overall lifespan of the Ford F-150, Maverick, and Ranger, and how long the oil and tires last in each of the trucks.

Ford F-150

The 2020 model has the highest reliability rating of all the F-150s, with a rating of 4.5. Given its high reliability, the 2020 Ford is likely to last up to 300,000 miles. This means that if the truck is driven an average of 15,000 miles per year, it will have a lifespan of 20 years.

The oil of this tuck needs to be changed at least every 10,000 miles. Because it is a 2020 model, the F-150 should have an Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor that will alert drivers when the oil needs to be changed.

The tires of the 2020 Ford F-150 last about 50,000 miles if they are made up of quality materials. However, they should be rotated every 6,000 miles.

Ford Ranger

The 2020 model has the highest reliability rating of all the Rangers, with a rating of 88/100. This truck can last up to 300,000 miles if properly maintained. This durable vehicle is equipped with all of the necessities and advanced features to have a life expectancy of up to two decades. Most trucks can only last 1/3 of this amount of time, making Ford trucks far superior to their competitors.

Do Chevy or Ford Trucks Last Longer?

If filling this truck with conventional oil, then the oil is expected to last about 4,000 miles. However, synthetic oil can last much longer before needing to be replaced. Synthetic oil can last about 10,000 miles.

Just like the F-150, the Ranger has tires that can last approximately 50,000 miles. Although, they should be rotated once every 6,000 miles.

Ford Maverick

The Ford Maverick is a brand new vehicle. Although the definite lifespan of the truck is currently unknown, there are some hypothesized expectations. In terms of reliability and lifespan, the Maverick is expected to perform worse compared to other new trucks. This is a depressing assumption, given the high reliability of the F-150.

Chevy Trucks Lifespan

Below is the overall lifespan of the Chevy Silverado and Colorado, and how long the oil and tires last in each of the trucks.

Chevy Silverado

The 2016 model has the highest reliability rating of all the Silverados, with a flawless rating of 5. However, despite this high reliability, it still does not last as long as the Ford trucks. It is only capable of lasting 200,000 miles, which is 100,000 less than the F-150 and the Ranger. A life expectancy of 200,000 miles gives this truck a lifespan of around 15 years.

The oil in the Chevy Silverado lasts just as long as it does in the Ford trucks. With conventional oil, the oil will last 4,000 miles. However, with synthetic oil, it can last up to 10,000 miles.

The tires in the Silverado also have a lower life expectancy as compared to the Ford trucks. These tires only last about 40,000 miles, which is 10,000 less compared to Ford. Rotation needs to occur the same amount as Ford, however, which is every 6,000 miles.

Chevy Colorado

2016 seems to be a good year for Chevy, as this is also when they produced their most reliable Colorado to date. Although it has the highest reliability of all the Colorados, it still only managed to get a rating of 4. Despite having a lower reliability than the Silverado, it is expected to last 100,000 miles longer, having a lifespan of 300,000 miles. This means that the Colorado has a life expectancy of 20 years, which is the same as the Ford trucks.

Just as in the other vehicles, conventional oil can last about 4,000 miles while synthetic oil can last 10,000 miles.

The Chevy Colorado’s tires should last about 40,000 miles before they need to be replaced. However, they do not need to be rotated as often compared to Ford. These Chevy tires only need to be replaced every 7,500 miles.
