GM Moves Production Of The Buick Envision To The US
The automotive giant aims to ease tariff impact on domestic buyers by moving its only Chinese-built product to the US.

GM announced that it will move production of the Buick Envision to the US after 10 years of Chinese production. The SUV will now come from the Kansas plant.
The fact that GM moves production of the Buick Envision to the US is a clear indicator that automakers are looking for ways to work around tariffs. The Buick Envision is one of the company’s best sellers, accounting for 22% of the brand’s total sales in 2025, with 41,924 units sold.

In the company’s statement to the media, GM stated that this decision, “further strengthens GM’s domestic manufacturing footprint and supports U.S. jobs, building on $5.5 billion in new investments announced across our U.S. manufacturing sites in the last year.”
The Reason GM Moves Production Of The Buick Envision To The US
GM moves production of the Buick Envision just as it has done with other models, such as the Chevrolet Equinox and the Chevrolet Bolt. Not only that, but it also announced that it would expand the US production of the Chevrolet Blazer, by moving production from Mexico to Tennesee.
It’s important to note that, according to Car And Driver, the Envision will share the platform with the Equinox. For the moment, GM will continue to sell the Envision produced in China.
