The main complaint consumers had was that the vehicle’s interior was too small.

Both models were affected by the previously mentioned NHTSA safety recall concerning the fuel flange. 

However, the 2012 Land Rover LR4 was affected by one other recall as well.

In June 2015, the NHTSA alerted drivers that the panoramic roof assembly may detach. This recall only affected 492 vehicles. 

This recall also affected the 2013 Land Rover LR4. 

Regardless of these recalls, the Kelley Blue Book‘s experts gave the 2012 Land Rover LR4 a 3.1-star rating.

Like the 2011 model, the 2012 Land Rover LR4 is an affordable model.

The NHTSA has issued three safety recalls for the 2013 Land Rover LR4. 

As mentioned earlier, this model was affected by recalls concerning the panoramic roof and the fuel flange. 

The other recall affects the tire pressure monitoring system. 

At times the TPMS may not locate the sensors.

In other words, if you have a tire with low pressure, the sensors may not detect it. 

This could lead to a tire blowout if not monitored properly.

The 2013 Land Rover LR4 was originally sold for $49,100; however, you can purchase it between $21,593 and $22,071, according to U.S. Car News.

So why didn’t this model make the best model year list? Aside from the extra recalls, this model received a poor reliability rating from J.D. Power.

2014 Land Rover LR4

The 2014 Land Rover LR4 was impacted by the TPMS sensor issue and the fuel flange recalls. 

However, no other NHTSA recalls were issued for this model. 

Not only is this model more expensive, but it received a low-reliability rating from J.D. Power. 

For these reasons, it was excluded from the best model years list.

2015 Land Rover LR4

The 2015 Land Rover LR4 can only be purchased with seven seats. 

While this extra seating space might have appealed to some drivers, the increased number of recalls, as well as a low-reliability rating, made it ineligible for the best model year list.

2016 Land Rover LR4

Like the other models excluded from the best model year list, the 2016 Land Rover LR4 did not rank well in reliability. 

In addition to the fuel flange cracking, this model is also susceptible to faulty airbags. 

This major safety concern makes it less appealing to drivers.
