• In 2001, General Motors sold approximately 716,000 Chevy Silverados and a bit over 210,000 GMC Sierras.
• In 2005, General Motors sold approximately 706,000 Chevy Siilveradoes and 229,500 GMC Sierras.
• In 2012, General Motors sold approximately 418,000 Chevy Silveradoes and over 157,000 GMC Sierras.

So while it does seem like Chevy Silverados are sold more often than its twin, the GMC Sierra, it really is a win-win for General Motors as a whole. Although this is the pattern that has been repeating for the last decade, there is no saying if the tables will turn for the GMC Sierra in the next decade. No one truly knows and that is what makes it exciting.
