What front bumper will fit the Jeep Wrangler JL?

Answer: A lot of them! The front bumper of a Jeep Wrangler JK will bolt right onto a Jeep Wrangler JL! This opens up so many options for the bumper you could put on the front of your new Jeep Wrangler JL.

I’ve been looking and admiring the new Jeep Wrangler JL. So much so that the Mrs. and I may go for a test drive this weekend. I have already driven two of them, but she has not. You know it is getting serious when she is willing to go for a test drive!

One of the things that many people like about the Jeep Wrangler is the ability to modify the Jeep Wrangler with accessories like bumpers, winches, offroad tires and more.

Since may owners start their Jeep Wrangler modifications with aftermarket bumpers, I thought you might appreciate knowing you have plenty of options.

This leads us to the next question…

What about the Jeep Wrangler JL Rear Bumper?

Important: While the front Jeep Wrangler JK bumper will bolt right onto the Jeep Wrangler JL, the rear frame is completely different. This means you might have to wait a while to modify your rear bumper on the Jeep Wrangler JL. With this said, manufacturers are hard at work designing bumpers that will work with your new Jeep Wrangler JL.

While many of you will be excited that the JK bumpers are a direct bolt-on option, but a few of you will not believe me. For that reason, I share this photo posted on the JL Wrangler Forum for additional proof! Okay, I know you believe me, but I just wanted to show you first hand because I don’t plan to put a factory JK bumper on my new JL to show you. lol

 

Happy Jeeping Jeepers! Let me know what your favorite bumper is for your Jeep. I am leaning towards the factory steel bumper and making it a stubby! What are your plans?

One more important note: Please realize it is impossible to say that because an item fits, that it is fair to assume all versions of that item fit. For example, front bumpers do work, but to say ALL aftermarket front bumpers will bolt right up is a complete unknown.

Also, there are some bumpers that require extra drilling to fit on the Jeep Wrangler JK.  This level of modification could be required on the Wrangler JL too. Also, it is possible that some bumpers may wide and could contact the frame or other components on your JL. As a result, please use this post as general information and double check it fits before making a purchase. This is just general purpose information.
